Frasier veteran Kelsey Grammer returns to comedy television at 8pm ET on September 30 in the new ABC sitcom Hank.

The five-time Emmy winner’s latest series finds him playing the title character Hank Pryor, a successful sports entrepreneur whose high-class world tumbles down a whole lotta notches when he’s pushed out of his executive job and forced to relocate his family to a small Virginia town called River Bend. Much culture shock and disappointment ensue.
Besides star and co-executive producer Grammer, the show’s cast includes Melinda McGraw (Mad Men) as Hank’s unhappy wife Tilly, David Koechner (The Office) as his gloating brother-in-law Grady Funk, Jordan Hinson (Eureka) as his hip teenage daughter Maddie, and Nathan Gamble (The Dark Knight) as his quirky young son Henry.

Hank airs Wednesdays on ABC at 8pm ET.

I love Frasier – (still watch the re-runs every night on Lifetime- the episodes never get old – the characters so rich – this is a classic that has, and will forever stand the test of time, and future generations)… I love Kelsey Grammer – We watched the entire episode, and found it quite entertaining. Not such a far stretch to imagine that Frasier could have very well experienced a similar situation) Pretty applicable for today …very believable – how the once wealthy, have to adjust to “un-wealth”… All of America is having to “adjust” and lower their standard of living these days… it was wonderful to see some humor brought into the forum of that not so funny situation too many of us are familiar with… To remind us, there is a silver lining in every cloud- a purpose to everything…. We will definately watch regularly. It is very interesting and entertaining to watch Hank’s new life experiences unfold … as he and his family adjust to having their feet “put right back on the ground” after years of sitting in the lap of luxury…. I am thrilled that Kelsey Grammer is back, in what I think promises to be, a wonderful show.
I was a huge Frasier fan. I am fan of some Grammer’s productions…so what on earth is he thinking signing up for this oh-so-typical boring sitcom? All the usual sitcom crap. Cute wife, cute kids, dumb Dad, obnoxious brother-in-law AND all the stupid one-liners. Does Hollywood not understand “sit” part of sitcom. SITUATION and Characters. Hank has neither. There is nothing funny about one-liners…maybe in 1965. Did Hollywood learn nothing from the success of Seinfeld…or Frasier…or Curb Your Enthusiasm? We watched about 20 minutes and quit. We won’t watch again. Is Kelsey THAT hungry…or do they think we are that easily amused?
