I think of Natalie Portman as being around forever, but the tiny star is only 28. Still, she’s been nominated for an Oscar (2004′s "Closer"), and has 33 other nominations and seven wins on her impressive resume. Sci-fi fans, of course, know her as Queen Padme Amidala in the "Star Wars" trilogy.
Now she’s signed to play nurse Jane Foster opposite Chris Hemsworth in "Thor." The Marvel flick will be directed by Kenneth Branagh and is set to start filming in early 2010 for a May 20, 2011 release. It’s an interesting mix of filmmakers and actors in this comic book movie; I’m curious to see the final result.
See Portman next in Jim Sheridan’s drama "Brothers," starring opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire.
