The Mythbusters Shark Week 2008 episode aired on Juy 27th and the myths tackled in this Shark Week special: Do dogs attract sharks? Are magnets the new wave in shark repellent technology? Do flashlights really attract sharks?
Myth #1: Fending Off a Shark Attack
If you’re being bitten by a shark and being thrown around can you actually find the sharks eyes and then poke it in the eyes which would force the shark to let you go. So in the frenzy of a shark attack will you be able to find, reach and then poke out the eyes.
The guys will create a robotic “Great White” Shark which is the shark that does the most attacking each year. Adam uses the computer to re-create the design of the shark mouth in steel.
So watch the video clip below and see if you were right, can you actually poke a shark in the eye if being attached.
