Muse Live Comeback Includes Songs From 'The Resistance'

Muse are regarded as one of the best live bands around today. And that’s in the world, not just on the British music scene. So their break from touring and performing live to record their new album has been somewhat hard on us fans.

But they’re now back, having last night played their first gig in over a year (in the U.K. at least). The three-piece rock band played at The Den in Teignmouth, Devon, which is their hometown.

The crowd was only 7,000-strong, much smaller than the number of people usually in attendance at a Muse concert. But those lucky enough to attend were treated to some of the classics as well as songs from their new album, The Resistance.

According to the NME, Muse played:

‘Uprising’
‘Supermassive Black Hole’
‘Stockholm Syndrome’
‘Resistance’
‘Hysteria’
‘New Born’
‘Map Of The Problematique’
‘United States Of Eurasia’
‘Cave’
‘Popcorn’
‘Undisclosed Desires’
‘Time Is Running Out’
‘Unnatural Selection’
‘Plug In Baby’
‘Knights Of Cydonia’

Muse will be performing again tonight (Sept. 5) and it’ll interesting to see if they play the same set or whether they vary it up a little. The Resistance is due to be released on September 14, with the fist single from it, Uprising, released on Monday.

Muse are back. And thank God for that.
