More "Children Of The Corn" Casting

The 1984 horror film, Children of The Corn is based on Stephen King’s short story of the same name. A Sci-Fi Channel remake of this film is planned, set to debut in 2009.

The latest news is that the role of Malechai, friend to the strange boy-preacher, Isaac, will be portrayed by Daniel Newman. Newman has just completed some work in the film, Cirque Du Freak, which is also set for a 2009 release.

If you recall, Children of The Corn tells the story of a group of children in a fictional town in Nebraska who are possessed by a demonic force, referred to as He-Who-Walks-The-Rows. The children are compelled by this force, to kill all the adults in the town. If you’ve seen the film, you know that his appearance is one of the scarier aspects.

I always wondered why “Mr. Walks The Rows” couldn’t take a cue from say, Prince, or Diddy, and shorten that name a bit in all those sequels.

Directed by Donald Borcher, “corn” also stars David Anders and Kandyse McClure (Battlestar Galactica).
