Moonlight, Invasion Begin Run on SCI FI

Starting tonight, SCI FI Channel will be running both Invasion and Moonlight as part of their Friday night line-up.

Moonlight, the cult favorite vampire series, was recently released on a stripped down DVD, but that shouldn’t stop folks from tuning in. The fans of this show are still as restless as Thriller’s undead, as they continue to take swipes at CBS for canceling the series. I wish it was new episodes, too, but it’s clear that this fight is over.

Invasion doesn’t have the same vocal fanbase as Moonlight, but it’s a solid series that’s worth a look if you’ve never seen it. It’s a Shaun Cassidy produced series, which should tell you a lot, about mysterious happenings in a small Florida town after a wicked hurricane. Eddie Cibrian stars as the park ranger who has more than his hands full as the people of his town start changing into something not completely human.

Invasion airs at 8:00, followed by Moonlight and then it’s a new episode of Battlestar Galactica. Not a bad line-up for a Friday night.

What the heck were you thinking! Cancel a marvelous show that had all the components for becoming a hugely viewed show so we can watch lame vampire blood and gore movies that have the same plot with the same untalented actors over and over again such as Vampire Diaries. There are those of us that are not 20 years old and do not wish to watch the pretty crowd whine and cry. Get real…vampire movies have always been geared to the young, yet when you get one that appeals to the older generation you cancel it. Give me a break!

Moonlight is also a very good tv show that was cancelled leaving everyone hanging mid air. But yet shows like Survivor that are to the point of ridiculous now are still on every season. Why don’t they send them to the artic circle & make them all wear parkas & boots for a change. Enough of the reality crap too, we have enough in our everyday lives, we need some fantasy, imagination, suspense and drama, like Moonlight, Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis, Battlestar Gallacta, stuff that is diffeent from big brother, talk shows & news. Bring back the good stuff.

Actually, William Fichtner (currently starring as Agent Mahone in Prison Break) starred as the Sheriff in Invasion and Eddie Cibrian was the Park Ranger.

Invasion was a well-written show and it got better as the series progressed.

Invasion and Moonlight together on Friday nights! Cool! I LOVE both Alex O’Laughlin and William Fichtner.
