Mickey Rourke’s comeback is full steam ahead, with the Hollywood premiere of “The Informers,” an ensemble film about a group of people in L.A. circa 1983. The movie also stars Kim Basinger, Billy Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder, Amber Heard, and Chris Isaak. It sounds a little like 2004’s “Crash” – you know, lots of intersecting stories.
And don’t forget that Rourke and Basinger starred in the erotic “9 1/2 Weeks” in 1986, so it was probably a little weird for them being back together on a movie.
This one’s definitely not for kids either, as it’s rated R for strong sexual content, nudity, drug use, pervasive language and some disturbing images. “The Informers” arrives in theaters in limited release April 24, 2009.
