Michael Rapaport (Donald Self) is set to star in a new film titled Only in New York.
The script, written by Seth Zvi Rosenfeld and Geebee Dajani, follows a recently paroled street hustler looking for a new life and seeking redemption only to find his path blocked by the combustible melange of New York elements that once did him in.
Ex con Derrick (James Caviezel) discovers a reason to go straight when he falls for call girl Mai, only to discover she’s the sister of the man he was sent away for shooting and the property of a ruthless Chinese mob boss. When Mai’s kidnapped, the only way Derrick can save her is to return to the life he’s running from, and the only one he can trust to help him is his former partner in crime. But on the streets where even bonds of blood can be bought, trusting the person closest to him could be his biggest mistake. From the gutters of the mean streets to the drug fueled debauchery of the NY club scene, a hip urban crime caper about love, loyalty and living on the edge.
Rapaport is set to star as Al in the film, which according to IMDb is delayed due to financing.
