Michael Jackson is now 50 years old and not getting any younger. The chances are that he has just one chance left of making a comeback, and if it flops, that’s the end of his career.
Jacko has been a virtual recluse since the child molestation charges against him were heard in 2005. The court case was shown around the world, and despite being cleared of the charges, his reputation has never really recovered.
Since then, the singer has been declared a virtual bankrupt, with debts piling up around him. His Neverland Ranch, where he built his own theme park and kept a menagerie of animals, has also reportedly changed hands and isn’t now owned by Michael himself.
The last four years have seen him make one appearance on stage to perform, and that was at the ‘World Music Awards’ held in London in 2006 where he failed to sing as expected. Can anyone say train wreck?
But now, it looks as though Michael Jackson could be preparing to make his long-awaited comeback, and he’s reported to have chosen London to make it. The Daily Mail claims the singer is looking to perform a 30-date tour at the O2 Arena.
This isn’t the first time such a rumor has been spread. Way back in December, 2007, there was speculation over exactly the same thing. In the end, it came to nothing, in the same way rumors of a new album have amounted to nothing.
Wacko Jacko is said to be in advanced talks with the O2 Arena to stage his comeback this summer. If he does play 30 nights in a row, it would overtake Prince’s record of 21 nights at the same venue.
Jacko’s fee for this tour is said to range from £45 million to £150 million. Either way, if he could pull it off, it would do wonders to ease his money worries. That is, of course, if anyone actually bought tickets and turned up.
In a way I hope this does happen, just so I can laugh when it all goes horribly wrong. Jacko was spectacularly good back in the day but he’s now lost it big-time and should just retire while some people still have fond memories of him.
The world has moved on, and although some fans insist he’s still the greatest, he’s clearly not, and never will be again. I wouldn’t go and see him even if it was free, and I’d hope real music fans would also feel the same way.
Michael Jackson is now a freak show of epic proportions and a tour would be more akin to people touring a Victorian asylum than what I’d call a good show.

Oh so funny this article. Claiming “if anyone shows up” when Michael sold out tickets in record time. I hope these writers feel ashamed like they should. Writing junk to publish is a hopeless attempt at trying to be something which they so obviously aren’t. Michael was the King and always will be.

Back in the day, Jacko was simply a part of The Jackson Five back in humble Gary, Indiana. They were so cute on stage twirling around in their Afros. Now, look at Michael: thinner, hair straighter, skin whiter, and solo. Guess he’s trying to hold on to his glory days.
