Michael C. Hall video and audio interviews about Dexter

14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

The marvelous Michael C. Hall sat for an interview with Amazon.com staffer Jordan Thompson this week. As always, Hall is thoughtful and well spoken as he muses about Dexter in the 9-minute chat:

Moral ambiguity attracted him to the serial-killer-with-a-code role: “We’re used to characters on television, or otherwise, wearing a black hat or a white hat. Dexter’s hat is gray. The fact that he operates in shades of gray I think is part of the show’s appeal.”

• Despite what Dexter may say about himself and his lack of empathy for other people, he does have a connection to Rita’s kids. “They represent a part of himself that is unspoiled and pure,” Hall says. Once Lila threatened them last season, she had to go.

• Hall’s no wimp, but he probably wouldn’t choose to be a blood-spatter expert in real life. “If I ever walked into a room and it were covered with real severed limbs and real blood, I’d probably lose my lunch as fast as anybody. But when it comes prosthetics and corn syrup with food coloring, I’m a pro.”

To hear more from Hall about why he cringed when he saw his blood-spotted face on all those promo posters last season and learn what he has at home on his DVR, bounce over to Amazon for the audio and video clips.

Season 2 of Dexter is out on DVD Aug. 19. Pre-order here, and get ready for the new season Sept. 28.

Michael C. Hall is the man. He’s honest about how feels about blood. He real about himself. Very cool.
