So word has it that Billboard.com reports that Metallica have sold nearly or over a half million copies of Death Magnetic in the first few days. Does this prove that Metallica are the “Kings Of Metal” or that Death Magnetic is the “Best Album Of 200″? No, in fact if you have even a morsel of brain tissue between your ears you would have seen this coming. They did it as they should. They release a few good songs for people to hear a bunch of samples and regardless whether the songs were good or not, people ate it up. This would have happened whether they released the full songs or video or not.
They could have held out everything such as artwork, song samples and everything and with all the hype and press it still would have sold. Do I hate them for it? No. IN fact I will probably go buy a copy very soon and try my best to write a very well thought out un-biased review of it. I haven’t hated what I have heard so far, but I have been far from blown away. Hell I might even buy a copy to give away. First few days or first week record sales does not mean that an album is great. It means the press and marketing was a success. More on this in the coming days.

must be nice to be able to throw out anything with that name on it and know you’re going to get results.
