Men of a Certain Age: Meet the Cast

As if you didn’t already know, TNT’s latest original series, Men of a Certain Age, premieres on Monday, December 7, at 10pm ET, which is tomorrow if you’re looking at this post on the original publication date.

Continue reading to meet the stars of the promising dramedy — Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap ), and Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street) — and learn a little about the middle-age characters they play. Unsurprisingly, the show is getting excellent reviews, and I’ll post mine also before the big debut.

JOE: A 40-something separated father of two children, kind Joe wanted to be a professional golfer, although he manages a party store now. He has gambling issues that partially led to his separation, and they’re becoming an increasingly bigger problem as he lives on his own. Unfortunately, his wife is ready to call it quits, despite Joe’s reluctance to abandon their marriage. Maybe the fantasy woman he keeps seeing will make a divorce easier to accept.

Scott Bakula as Terry

TERRY: A devoted bachelor, down-to-earth Terry is the envy of his friends, even if they enjoy teasing him about his lifestyle. Also somewhat directionless, regardless of his slightly successful heyday as a semi-famous TV-commercial star, he chases women and holds low-maintenance jobs as an office temp, yoga instructor, and occasional aspiring actor. Maybe he’ll get lucky with the coffee-shop employee who’s young enough to be his daughter.

OWEN: A hard-working married father of three, Owen is dissatisfied with his life of toiling as a car salesman at his challenging father’s business to support his family. He wants to quit his job and the related stress forever, but he realizes his responsibilities to his family. As a result, the situation has negatively impacted his health, which includes diabetes.

Men of a Certain Age premieres on Monday, December 7, at 10pm ET.
