According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, Battlestar Galactica’s Mary McDonnell, will be joining the cast of the TNT series The Closer for a mult-arc episode. In a role that was written specifically for her, McDonnell, seen here as part of the Galactica Retrospective panel at the United Nations, plays a police captain who butts heads with Kyra Sedgwick.
Look for her arrival early in The Closer’s forthcoming fifth season.
In other Turner casting news, Supernatural’s Meg, aka Nicki Aycox has joined the cast of TNT’s Dark Blue.
Dylan McDermott stars as the head of a crack undercover team of police officers who are so covert, many of their own colleagues don’t even know they are involved. Nicki plays a green patrol cop brought in because of her excellent skill in lying and shady past.
Sounds like the perfect role. Look for the series to premiere later this year.
