Matthew Fox - Speed Racer and Life After Lost

Matthew Fox has been doing quite the press circuit for Speed Racer, which opens this week!! Here’s a couple of quick clips on his character and his plans to leave the TV realm after Lost!!

Matthew on character Racer-X…

“I’m a masked driver. There are many rumors around him. He’s very mysterious. Half the population thinks that he’s a bad guy and causes accidents and is dangerous, and half the population thinks he’s actually working for a secret organization that is combating corruption. Also, there are rumors that he’s protecting Speed Racer on the track, and that he might be Speed Racer’s brother who is supposed to have died years before in a fiery car-crash. So, in this film, we’re not really sure who he is.”

Matthew on Speed Racer sequels…

“I would definitely like to do another, just because the experience was so much fun. And if there were to be more Speed Racers, there would be a really cool arc to play.”

Matthew on Life after Lost…

“After Lost is over, I’m not going to do television anymore, only because it does take up so much of the year. I’ll either be doing films or doing nothing. Let me put it that way, [it's] just because I’ve done two shows that have ran six years. I’m now doing films and a show, and it’s just not leaving a lot of time or control over my life and spending time with the people that I love. So after Lost is over, I would like a situation where, if I get involved in a project, after three months, it’s done. I’m unemployed, and I can either chose to stay unemployed or look for the next project.”
