It seems ages away, but Weeds will return for its fifth season on June 8. If you recall, we left Nancy Botwin pregnant and potentially in a heap of trouble with her boss/lover, Esteban.
At the time, I wondered if Nancy faked her pregnancy to gain the upper hand with her kingpin boyfriend — that ultrasound photo could’ve been Shane’s, right?
Not so much, said series creator Jenji Kohan. She told E! that there’s only a slim chance that Nancy’s not pregnant. As to whether Esteban or some other guy is the father, Kohan said “you never know.”
What’s clear from these on-set pics, at least, is that Nancy still spends time at the mall and she still loves her iced lattes (let’s hope for the bambino’s sake she switches to decaf). The photos were shot at a mall in Hollywood and appear to chronicle a musical sequence. We’ll have to tune in this summer to see whether the song-and-dance routine is real or a fantasy.
