LOST theme park attraction at Walt Disney World

disneyworldWould a LOST island attraction at Disney World lure you to vacation at the happiest place on earth? Disney World is so large, it has actual islands that could be used to create a replica of television’s most famous mystery island.

A Lost fan named Jon Stueve has created a petition to try and convince Disney to create an attraction for one of its most popular television properties: Lost. His petition suggests theme park replicas and rides based on island destinations, such as: the Frozen Donkey Wheel, a Swan Hatch ride, a submarine ride to Pala Ferry, a tour of the Dharma Barracks, Jacob’s Cabin (perhaps a creepy/scary ride?), the statue of Tawaret (get your picture made!), and more.

Personally, I’d love to see a state-of-the-art ride based around the smoke monster. Plus, there’s all the other Dharma stations. Maybe Disney could create some animatronic panda bears at the Hydra station? Or an intense thrill ride where you have to escape the underwater Looking Glass station before it floods? And of course your journey to the island would have to begin at the Lamp Post, with its giant swinging pendulum…

If you like the idea of visiting Lost’s island yourself at Disney World, be sure to sign the petition. What other island-inspired rides and attractions would you like to see?

I think the idea stinks!!! I would hate to see the most amazing show every written reduced to an amusement park ride with robotic wax figure of Jack, Kate and Hurley spouting off catch phrases from the show. My hope is that the show goes out with grace and dignity that is has always had. It would ruin my memoirs of this wonderful show to see poor commercialized attempts made to satisfy those who can not say goodbye with out wishing for more. All good things come to an end and we are better off for it. Personally I am sick of Disney. How long before they put Lost in the vault so they can drag it out every ten years with a revamped way to make money.

And while I’m at it….your web sight use to be one of the best, now it is nothing but one annoying advertisement after another. It’s a shame you can’t visit a website without a video add blasting over your speakers.

Believe me, readers are not the only ones complaining about the video ads, as the ads shown on the site are something we mere writers have zero input or control over. I appreciate all our advertisers for keeping us in business, but whoever thought it was a good idea to have the ads auto-play when a page loads (instead of coming up static, with the option of letting you press play on your own) needs to be taken to the woodshed. I mean seriously, what a brilliant way to drive away readers (as you just demonstrated).

Regardless, I noticed yesterday that the video ads seem to be gone at last, so I say we throw a “no more video ads!” party. :)

Thanks for your positive comment after reading my ranting. I know we need adds out in the internet world so all this free stuff we enjoy can be paid for, but it is a shame that advertiser do not use common sense when it comes to how they go about it. But this is a Lost blog not a sounding board for sour grapes over eye/ear pollution from ads. I have enjoyed your blog and will continue to do so even tough it takes longer to load because of all the ads…….sorry I’m just hoping the advertiser will read and get the hint. But if the auto-play video ads are gone; then as Forrest Gump would say, “Good, one less thing”.

Thanks again for all the hard work you’ve done keeping us informed about LOST!
