There’s a news story making the rounds right now about Chef Duff Goldman (pictured) and the entire crew from Charm City Cakes, the bakery best known for Food Network’s Ace of Cakes (an awesome show you need to be watching), traveling to Hawaii to meet U.S. Army members at Schofield Barracks, on the island of Oahu. The Ace of Cakes team was reportedly there to film their season finale in Hawaii’s fun and sun, and took time out to deliver a special UH-60 Blackhawk cake to the Army soldiers and families stationed in Hawaii.
What isn’t in the official news story, according to Food Network Addict, is a very hush-hush detail about Charm City’s trip to the Aloha State: the producers of Lost paid to bring them out there. The Charm City crew reportedly put together a special Lost cake that featured tiny replicas of the cast, and presented it to the cast and crew on the set. If you’ve ever seen the amazing things that Duff and his friends can do with their custom-made cakes, you should know that whatever they put together for the Lost crew had to be something special.
Here’s hoping we get to see it on an upcoming episode of AoC.
