Do you feel it? The “new episode of Lost” buzz? If so, you’re not alone! The third episode of Season 5 airs tonight. It’s called “Jughead,” and it revolves around Desmond’s search for Daniel’s mother, while the island survivors run into trouble against the mysterious militia forces there. And I’m hearing from multiple sources that this is one of the show’s best episodes ever. Do. Not. Miss it.
And in case your buzzometer isn’t high enough yet, here are the latest teasers from all of the usual suspects. Beware of minor spoilers ahead, and also note that most of these teasers apply to the entire season ahead, not necessarily to just tonight’s episode:
- EW’s Ausiello reports that the “young Phillip Seymour Hoffman type” actor that’s needed for an upcoming story arc has been cast. Playing the mysterious role will be actor Brad William Henke, who’s best known for recurring roles on Dexter and October Road. He also just happens to be in JJ Abrams‘ Star Trek reboot, as “Uncle Frank.”
- TV Guide’s Matt Mitovich believes that we may see Danielle Rousseau in tonight’s episode.
- Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse tell Kristin at E! Online that we’ll find out what Sawyer whispered to Kate before jumping from the helicopter in the first half of this season. They also confirm that Sawyer and Juliet will enjoy some romantic tension in the near future, Ms. Hawking is related to a major character on the show, and (spoiler alert!) Ben really can go back to the island, despite his claim to the contrary.
- Back over at EW, Doc Jensen and Dan Snierson launch a new video series, “Totally Lost,” with a few exlusives: this year’s Comic-Con video that featured Pierre Chang and an off-camera Daniel Faraday was only… (wait for it…) half of the full video! There’s a lot more to it. Jensen also reveals that the Jughead in the title of tonight’s episode is not a person. Hm.
