Life on Mars Takes You Back

In ABC’s new series “Life on Mars,” Detective O’Mara wakes up and inexplicably finds himself back in the early 70′s.  To totally immerse you, the viewer, in the concept, ABC has developed a totally 70′s ad campaign that will trigger a nostalgic chord in anyone old enough to remember the era.

The ad campaign uses 70′s fonts and the ABC logo of the era along with a graphical style that was hot at the time.  One ad uses The Mod Squad theme and they both have a voice-over that has to be heard to be believed. ABC wanted to get the original 70′s announcer, but sadly the man had passed away.  Still, whomever they got to match is voice is incredible. There’s nothing about these ads that says you’re not in 1973, except for the fact that you can see them on the Internet.

Watch one of the ads and read the full story at TVWeek.

Here’s the second ad courtesy of Jack Yan’s Blog.
