On the “The Ice Man Job” episode of Leverage, Team Nate assists a security guard accused of being the inside man on a diamond heist.
However, it turns out the owner of the diamonds…
…staged the robbery himself in order to pay off debts. As a result, the team members plans to clear their client’s name by getting the diamonds from the owner and then turning him in to the police.
With that not-so-simple goal in mind, Hardison goes undercover as a notorious thief who offers to launder the diamonds. But when the mark’s henchmen kidnap Hardison, the hacker suddenly has to become a thief, like, for real.
To do so, Parker and Eliot break into the vault ahead of Hardison so that he can follow along and pretend to break in. Yet, during the scheme, Parker doesn’t have enough time to unlock the deposit box where the diamonds are hidden, forcing her to instead help Hardison escape before the henchmen realize he doesn’t have a clue how to pick a lock. Luckily, they flee just in time for the police to arrive and arrest the diamond owner and his henchmen.
Elsewhere, Sophie decides she needs some time to herself to deal with personal issues, but she can’t quite escape the group, thanks to constant calls from Parker, Eliot, and Hardison. After one last phone call from Nate, who struggles to find the right thing to say, she hangs up and plops her cell phone in her drink.
