Leverage: Season Two Launches

Finally, just what fans have been waiting for. TNT’s fun crime caper Leverage opens its sophomore season tonight, July 15, at 9pm ET with the premiere episode “The Beantown Bailout Job.”

TNT’s brief description doesn’t do the episode justice, which is as entertaining as viewers have come to expect. The main plot goes like this…

After Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton) unexpectedly saves the day (again), he reluctantly reassembles his team of ace criminals to pit the local Irish mob in Boston against a banker determined to game a government bailout. If the group manages to succeed on the mission, however, Nate will have to admit that he really does need the others, no matter how much he likes to pretend he doesn’t.

Watching the episode in advance, I couldn’t help but keep thinking how enjoyable it is to have the guys and gals back. The relationships among the characters are still going funny and strong, and the season premiere has plenty of action and skilled plotting to go along with the dependable laughs. And there’s a cool new opening, too.
