'Leverage' Gets Two More Episodes and Third Season

These are very good days for the Timothy Hutton caper dramedy Leverage.

Leverage

First TNT announced the sophomore series will get its current summer season extended by two additional episodes, pushing the midseason finale from August 26 to September 9. The winter season will remain at the original six episodes, giving Season Two a total of 15 episodes.

Then the network delivered the excellent (and expected) news that the show will return for a third season, also to contain a total of 15 episodes. So far this summer, the series has averaged 4.1 million viewers, leading the cable pack on Wednesdays among adult viewers between the ages of 25 and 54.

In the renewal announcement, TNT executive vice president and head of programming Michael Wright applauds the entertaining show: “Thanks in large part to its engaging cast and clever storytelling, Leverage has proven itself to be one of the most exciting and fun hours on television. The producers, cast and crew have been incredible to work with, and we anticipate another wonderful season.”

Catch Leverage right now on Wednesdays at 9pm ET.
