Two Jimmys and the Phantom Drummer
by Addison Royce

Doesn't it seem more than a bit strange that after four decades or so the Zep have not come up with a proper fit to replace their drummer? There's only one drummer, that I know of, which was Bonham's equal. A real musician who not only had the artistic touch, skills, and power to do a proper job of playing with Led Zeppelin but had something to say on his own, without being some Bonham-wannabe. The drummer in question went on a very long sabbatical, about the same time Bonham passed on. And, within a year after he was invited to play with the other Jimmy (Hendrix, that is). Sadly that never came about, as Hendrix went on a sort of sabbatical of his own. One wonders if Señor Page, still recalls his name or what band the phantom drummer toured with? Fact is, no matter how hard most people try to guess his identity, it's doubtful that fans & musicians these days would know who the identity of this once awesome and innovative drummer. Why wouldn't they? He didn't play long enough to cash in on his pay-day. And, the excellent band he played with sailed off into the sunset of one hit wonders.

Cheers!
