Don’t be fooled by this week’s episode of CSI:Vegas at 8:00pm EST. The first episode is a repeat of “Spellbound”. The real news happens at the 9:00pm show where Gil Grissom announces he’ll be leaving on a 4-week sabbatical.
Catherine testifies in a murder trial in which a man is accused of murdering his own mother three years ago, but the suspect is found not guilty. Catherine, however, believes he did commit the crime and that he may also have killed two other people, so she sets out to find the other victims. Grissom prepares to leave on a four-week sabbatical.
There was lots of discussion about Grissom leaving the show for good. The writers are just playing this up as a 4-week sabbatical. It’s interesting because from what I’ve read William Petersen was personally in need of a break from the show and that’s why they wrote it in. It’s also interesting to me that Gil Grissom seemed more and more distracted within the show itself. This is all playing nicely into a dramatic season finale don’t you think.

I certainly hope that William Peterson will be returning in his role as “Gil Grissom”. I have watched William Peterson for years and have enjoyed his ability to play a multitude of characters from good guys to bad guys. I was amazed at his depth and range in “ManHunter”. He is the thread that holds the team as well as the show together. If he truly is leaving, then I will continue to watch for him in movies and reviews and I wish him the best.

I really hope Gil Grissom returns, he is the one that makes the show interesting. Since we watched him go on his “Sabbatical” we really have no interest in watching the show anymore, can’t stand Catherine, the power hungry wannabe witch. The show will not be the same with out the quirky Grissom.

And leave csi vegas in the dust! But yeah grissom diffently needs to come back to vegas though, the show will go down hill,imo!

Like you, I hope that Grissom comes back to Vegas – although I doubt it. Unlike you, I will continue to watch the show as I am a CSI addict and I plan to give Keppler a chance. Don’t get me wrong, I love Grissom – not only is he smart and aggrivating – he’s not bad-looking either. I just don’t think the show is all about him. I do agree that Catherine is a pain and has been wanting Gil’s job for a long time. I also find Sara annoying and wish that they would give her character some emotion and a man that loves women more than bugs. As for the other cast members – I think Warrick should be running CSI anyway. He’s # 1 in my book…

as, for sara, well it should have been her that went on the sabbatical i do not like her at all.

I strongly believe Gil Grissom (William Petersen)will be returning to his role. CSI:Vegas without Grissom is nothing. I have not watched the show since the new season started because of his absence. Grissom is the soul of the show. Please come back.

if grissom does not come back i know one guy that will be watching N.Y.. and thats a maybe… vegas is the best TV show i seen in a long time an i love all the people in it but if you take grissom away its done for me

I have been a fan of CSI since day one. The show will never be the same without Grissom. He can be is serious and then he has that little smile.As the years have gone by, he has been getting better looking every year. I hope he does not leave the show, too soon. We know that day will come, but please don’t go for a long time
