Saw the video. As a filmmaker the red and black theme matched the Blastmasters reminder to everybody that he is 100% New York and he can take it there on demand. The lighting, turntables and all around editing kept the emphasis on the song. The song is obviously what every Hip Hop fans wants to hear from KRS – powerful, lyrical and not going anywhere anytime soon – if ever. It feels like his live show, which I have not been able to get to since 1995 in Chi-City…WOW! This video is done to look like a simple handheld shoot but the professional techniques are apparent in editing, lighting and camera placement. Somebody behind the scenes definitey knows Hip Hop! This is not trying to cross over, it is asking you to cross over. The feel is a club where you would catch a live show. Then, try to explain it to everybody, but if you werent there you could never understand – The bass on the track is bringing it all full circle (criminal minded) but most KRS songs have extreme bass – list too numerous to mention.
