In “Thor” news, Kevin McKidd recently told IGN Movies that he’s still a contender for the lead role in the live-action movie, and that there’s been “a lot of back and forth” about the project lately, but nothing is set in stone.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” actor (he’s Dr. Owen “Major McBadass” Hunt) noted that Kenneth Branagh is directing “Thor,” which only makes him more geeked about snagging the part.
Apparently, McKidd was in the running for the role last year when Marvel was actively working on it. Production was halted briefly – to see how “Iron Man” fared, I’ve heard – and they’re now aiming for a July 2010 release date.
