Keanu Reeves in for "Speed 3"?

keanu-reeves-speed Say it ain’t so! I’ve been hearing rumors that Keanu Reeves is considering a third installment to the “Speed” franchise. But really, weren’t the first two movies enough? I liked the first one, but the second one? Not so much.

Ain’t It Cool News posted a note that Fox might be planning another ride on something speedy, but that it won’t be a sequel or a remake, but rather a prequel that introduces the character of Jack Traven.

I’ve also read updates on both Cinema Blend and Ain’t it Cool News that Jan de Bont, the director of the original “Speed” isn’t interested, which might make it harder to get Keanu Reeves back.

More after the jump…

If they DO decide to move forward with it, my advice is to find a hot young couple to play the leads. I can’t say that Keanu Reeves was the force that made the original movies great, and I don’t see how him returning for a third movie is a good thing, even if Sandra Bullock was on board, which she won’t be.

And I’m not saying that a third movie, in general, is a good thing. They should just leave this one alone. Think they’ll listen to me?

Even if it IS a prequel isn’t he too old now to go back and play a character from a movie that long ago?!
