Who is Kathy Reichs?
Kathy is a forensic anthropologist and mystery novel writer who works in both the US and Canada – and is the producer of Bones. Why? Because the show is based upon her books!
Are the books and the show the same?
Yes and no. Although the two series are similar in nature, they do not tie into each other.
They share the same main character, and set of characters, but not necessarily the same plots nor dramas. Temperance Brennan, as a character, is based closely upon Kathy herself, and the science used in the novels mimics real techniques used by Kathy.
