Katey Sagal Stars in ‘Sons of Anarchy’

Sitcom fans know her best as Peggy Bundy on Married with Children and Cate Hennessy from 8 Simple Rules… for Dating My Teenage Daughter, but Katey Sagal (pictured at left with her 8 Simple Rules co-star John Ritter, who passed away five years ago) is about to become known for her role in an entirely different kind of TV show.

On Wednesday, September 3, at 10pm EST, FX will premiere its latest original series, a drama set in California called Sons of Anarchy. Sagal plays Gemma Teller Morrow, and the series stars Charlie Hunnam (Undeclared, Queer as Folk) as Jackson “Jax” Teller, a thirty-something new father and motorcycle club member.

The terrific cast is rounded out by Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos), Mark Boone Junior (3 Days of Night), Kevin Chapman (Brotherhood), Johnny Lewis (The O.C.), Taylor Sheridan (Veronica Mars), and Maggie Siff (Mad Men), which makes me eager to see what this show is all about.
