Kaiser Chiefs Hate James Bond

The Kaiser Chiefs have revealed that they hate James Bond and find the movies boring.

The band have recently performed at The BBC Electric Proms, an annual music festival which sees a diverse range of British artists come together to perform sets.

At the event, the Kaiser Chiefs worked with David Arnold, famous for his work on Bond Soundtracks, which lead to the being questioned about the long running British spy franchise.

Drummer and songwriter Nick Hodgson said:

“We won’t be doing any Bond music. I’ve never seen a Bond film. Actually, I have seen a couple. They were boring.”

“We were asked to write a soundtrack once. But it was a romcom, it wasn’t our thing. We thought it would be interesting, but it wasn’t.”

“But one day it would be cool for the right sort of film. Not a big fanfare sort of thing. A much more cheerful Kes where the kestrel lives, maybe.”

Okay, Bond films do tend to be a bit formulaic and predictable, but there’s no need to diss the whole thing like that.

You can guarantee that James Bond will be put in an impossibly tight position ‘somewhere abroad’ before saving the day using some unrealistic gadgets, and then getting to have sex with the best looking woman in the film. What’s wrong with that?
