Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers has checked out of rehab after receiving treatment for alcoholism.
After about two weeks at exclusive treatment center the Causeway Retreat in England, the Irish actor checked himself out and headed to LA to hold meetings about his upcoming films, the Irish Independent reports.
Meanwhile, people familiar with The Tudors production schedule in Ireland said work continues as planned on Season 4.
A friend of Jonathan’s told the newspaper the actor will continue seeking help for his alcohol addiction. This was his third stint in rehab, and marked a return to the Causeway Retreat, where he’d stayed in December and January.
“It is something that he finally accepted within himself that he has to deal with,” the friend said of Jonathan’s drinking problem. “He will continue to get help now and the people around him will work to keep him going on the right track.”
Rhys Meyers returns to Showtime as King Henry VIII on April 5, when Season 3 premieres.
