Sadly, even Jennifer Morrison doesn’t know if her character Cameron will return to Princeton-Plainsboro. The House producers don’t tell the cast ahead of time anything about the story lines, so even Jennifer has to wait to find out if she’s been fired. That seems rather unfair. Here’s a bit from E! about it:
And what’s the truth about various reports that she’s either still a regular or that she might do guest star visits later this season? Answers Morrison, “I’m still a series regular, technically. I really don’t know. All I know is that I don’t know. And they keep making it very clear to me that I don’t know. I feel bad [because I wish] that I had an answer for people. But, uh, anything could happen I guess.” (Does anyone else feel terrible that Morrison’s been put in the awkward position of having to answer Q’s about whether or not she’s lost her job without her really even knowing the answer?)
Morrison does know, happily, how much fans support her right now. She said, “I don’t read anything online, because if you read the good you have to read the bad, and if you read the bad, it’s depressing, so I just avoid it altogether, but…even with avoiding looking at stuff online…it’s really been really overwhelmingly beautiful the way the fans have been supportive. I couldn’t thank them enough. It means so much to me that the people watching like my character. You couldn’t ask for more as an actor.”
My personal hope is that Cameron does return to the fold. Her character adds a sense of gentleness and empathy for the patients that we don’t see as much in any of the other doctors on the show.
What are your thoughts about Dr. Cameron’s departure from the show in last night’s episode? Do you think it was handled properly, or do you think it could have been done better? Leave a comment and let’s discuss it!

@ Lucy: Cameron was missed by a lot of people, because she helped a lot to understand House better. OF COURSE I hope that she comes back SOON! The only thing ruining the show right now is this terrible Huddy arc.
@ Ruth YES I AM a real fan (have been for 5 years and will be forever) despite the fact I’m not watching except for known non-Huddy episodes because that’s not the show I fell in love with anymore anyway. It’s like House reloaded for soap loving fangirls. That makes me sad, as a real fan (of the REAL House). And I still hope they’ll go back to the real House.

“Seemed weird that once again House (at his worst) would not shake hands with
Cameron” – I don’t think it’s that strange, the entire final scene of the episode centered around the fact that at its core, the House-Cameron relationship hasn’t changed, she’s tried to move on and be assertive but in the end she’ll still offer House the same formal, parting gift (handshake and kiss) from the seasons that came before it. Then, if you examine it on House’s side, we’re dealing with the fact that if he shakes her hand it’ll be ‘too final’. He’s a character that’s never liked changed and losing someone who he cares about so fully – he can’t justify her departure by mirroring their former one. Maybe there’s a tad of his manipulative side in there too, trying to keep her there by playing on her emotions.
We’ll see.
Because the parting scene wasn’t final, I’d put money her returning.
