Jedward – ‘Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)’ Single Review

If you’re not British and have never heard of Jedward before then prepare to bring your dinner up. The novelty act of this year’s The X Factor have released a single. It’s a mash-up of Queen and David Bowie’s Under Pressure, and Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby. And it’s terrible. Unsurprisingly.

We’ve had Darius, we’ve had the Cheeky Girls, and now we have Jedward. All acts from a reality TV show who have defied belief in getting as far as they do on the show before releasing a few pointless and utterly crap records after they were finally booted off.

This isn’t the official video for Jedward’s Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby) because the record companies are idiots and won’t allow embedding. So I’ve had to post a live performance of the track from GMTV instead. But no matter, as if anything it shows up the twin turds for their lack of talent even more.

There is nothing good to see about this song. The originals are both cracking records which have stood the test of time. Sure, Vanilla Ice has been ridiculed in hindsight but Ice Ice Baby was huge in its time. And you can’t mess with Queen or David Bowie. Even though Jedward have tried.

They can’t sing, they can’t dance; they have no timing, no talent, or charisma; they should have been killed at birth. This performance is surely enough to persuade any anti-abortionist that it’s not actually that bad in some circumstances.

I cannot rate this song or video because I refuse to even believe it got released. Shame on Jedward, shame on Vanilla Ice, shame on Queen and David Bowie for licensing the song, shame on Louis Walsh for inflicting this on the world, and shame on the British public for buying enough copies of this shit to get it to number two in the singles chart.

I’ll hand it to ‘em. Those hairstyles are boss. What kind of hair gel do they use? I need some of that. Maybe, K-mart sells that stuff. Make the hair so stiff, won’t have to style it for at least a year.

This review is shocking and so unfair on so many levels; first you state your harsh opinion that Jedward new attempt is terrible, bearing in mind that it is your prejudice judgement, you do not show any allowance for others to judge for themselves on the single; Again you base your opinion and comparisons on a bias level. You name them on offensive terms which come off immature, incomprehensible and absolutely unjustified.
Basically, the X Factor rave against Jedward was particularly aimed at their performances on the show, and you are revolving your judgement of their single from the show. This is not about the show anymore, you remain in the past. Come into the present, take a better look and you may actually come to recognize that they have worked hard on this and have been hugely respected for it.
Also in contrast to your theories of the Jedward twins, most would argue that – Yes they in this single they can sing well, that – Yes they can dance and do have timing, and that – Absolutely they have charisma which has blatantly been known to be their main advantage on carrying them throughout the show on the X Factor.

Your distasteful remarks of their existence is completely abhorrent and sadly has been disregarded.
This post is not a review, it is a failed attempt to exploit a couple of harmless artists in the making.
Piecing together a bunch of allegations that are not considered relevant anymore are purely based upon your negative attitude against them which shows for a lousy effort and should have been wiped off the website already.
There is a fine line between arguing a music review and abusing those privileges.
This deserves an apology on your behalf for coming up with such accusations and insults on a couple of innocent people.
I believe these kind and friendly boys should have never been detested for their ‘over-confident’ act during the X-factor days; they should instead have been admired, for their uniqueness, their ability to entertain a mass amount of people, and attracting some important artists.
Making fans as well as enemies is considered a success in the world of mainstream media! Their consistent ability to remain strong throughout the harsh backlash of criticism they received has earned them the respect they deserve. They have only come out bigger, better and more influential than ever before. They have gained more respect from this single, which has left an idea for the public to expect from them in the future.
As long as they keep their dreams and focuses in perspective they will achieve big things, they have a lot of celebrity support, and have offers music-wise already. As they age and grow more mature they will hold a bigger fan following for their achievements and their time of complete success is only anticipated by people around the world.

Only real journalists would list the things I just have mentioned in opposition to your inadequate material. And again, shame on you for even labeling this to be a review.

Oh Lordie, my vittles just came up and into the toidy bowl. Who in heck is Jedward? While I watched that video, all I could think was these two are really cute, but they need to get the hell off that stage.

    Good name though.

Brits got all kinds of interesting bands and stuff.
