Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles Are NOT Doing the Simpsons

1066245_wheelchair_failWell, well. Today was an interesting experiment in the power of social media – or should I say, the insanity.

Yesterday, I posted a short, funny (or so I thought) piece about what would be on TV in the year 2025. I figured instead of looking back as most people do this time of year, I’d look into the future. I used my CRYSTAL BALL to see CSI: Mars, a 5-year old Doctor Who and Jensen and Jared on the Simpsons (NOT!).

Several people chose to take only the line about the boys and republish it on Twitter, sans the whole “Crystal Ball 2025 TV season” part and it went wild from there. Anyone who read the WHOLE article understood the context. Unfortunately, as it made its way around the internet, that context was lost.

It was a joke – Jensen and Jared are not going to be on The Simpsons.

I guess going forward, I should refrain from creative posting and stick to delivering nothing but facts – or maybe people just need to not believe everything they read until they have all the facts.

So my apologies to Jensen, Jared, their reps and the people at Warner Brothers who had to spend time unraveling this silly mess. And to the folks at The Simpsons – if you’d like to get me out of this jam by actually hiring the boys to voice an episode – I’d be ever grateful.

Thanks to DocLecter on Stock Xchng for the epic fail photo.

Sorry people are so dumb. Who needs reading comprehension, anyway?

I was one who was initially excited that the boys would make an appearance on the Simpsons due to the lack of crystal ball info that certain people failed to repost. Once I had the chance to read the article I realized it was a big joke(I always double check the source due to my lack of trusting). I guess it’s kinda like the telephone game where you say something and as it goes around the circle to the last person it’s changed into something totally different. LOL

I had to tell people that this was NOT going to happen. I read the article. I laughed. Especially at the “CSI: Mars.” That alone should have told people that this wasn’t the truth. It was a joke–one I found extremely funny. The more I deal with people, the more I realize how dumb people are. To paraphrase MIB: A PERSON is smart. People are stupid.

Sorry about all this misunderstanding. I loved the article. It was hilarious. I’m still giggling about “CSI: Mars.”

Who says they won’t at some point before 2025? hehe… At this rate the Simpsons might still be on then anyway (not that I would mind… I love the Simpsons)… so I’ll just cross my fingers that you are one hell of a real psychic hehe! :)

But its SO funny how crazy fans can get with one little piece of information! HA!

People in this fandom are far too excitable. It was a very cute article, BTW.

Its a shame you can’t joke without people taking it out of context. I hope this won’t stop you from any other jokes.

It astounds me that one little thing of the boys show up and the fans run screaming! Honestly, how could one not see it was a spoof upon initially reading the article! I feel sorry for Cynthia who had to go through the mess and then retract the comment. Lesson learned here is just never mention their names again and you will be fine. Some people just lack the common sense to go beyond reading the boys names and comprehend what an article is all about. It’s like that Farside comic of an owner speaking to its dog when all the dog hears is BLAH, BLAH, BLAH and then its name. You do the math!!!

It was an obvious joke… loved the entire article BTW. But I gotta say would love to see SPN spoofed on the Simpsons or better yet Southpark.

I would love to see them on The Simpsons, they would be really great at it–on any show cartoon or not really. It’s always sad to hear about such stupidity though (“Who needs reading comprehension anyway?” funny and true).

CSI:Mars–also sad that I could actually see that on TV someday.
