Do you think they look alike?
It was recently announced that in season 6 of 24 Jack Bauer’s (Kiefer Sutherland) dad will be in the picture. He’s going to be played by James Cromwell of "Six Feet Under" and almost every Star Trek iteration. Too bad Kiefer’s real life dad veteran actor Donald Sutherland wasn’t cast. He’s SO talented!
Sure, super-agent Jack Bauer has a dad somewhere … but in Season Six of 24, we will learn that he looks like the farmer guy from Babe, and possibly even the chap who invented warp drive in the Star Trek universe.
Yep, James Cromwell has joined the cast of the Emmy-winning show as Philip Bauer, Jack’s pop.
Also on board is Eddie Izzard, fresh from his turn as a lovestruck super-baddy in My Super Ex-Girlfriend, as "a villainous accomplice", according to a Zap2It.com report.
Messrs Cromwell and Izzard join other new faces like Kal Penn, Harry Lennix, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Syriana’s Alexander Siddig, Regina King, Marisol Nichols and Peter Macnicol (Ally McBeal’s "Biscuit"). Via The Star

Jack has a father? I thought he was found on a mountaintop somewhere and raised by a platoon of Marines.

[...] Well, this week on 24 not a whole lot happened. Actually, it was a pretty boring and predictable episode. We found out that Jack’s brother is really evil after all… but we knew that already from last season. We got introduced to Jack’s father, played by James Cromwell, at the end of the episode who seems like he is a good guy for the most part and was just trying to protect his son, clearly the real villain here.
