Is the next season Brotherhood’s last? One of the stars thinks so.

Premiere of Dreamwork's

With no clear commitment from Showtime for future seasons of Brotherhood, one of the cast members on the Rhode Island politics and crime drama thinks this season could be its last.

Ethan Embry — who plays Declan Giggs on the show — tells EW.com he thinks unless more viewers discover and fall in love with Brotherhood, Season 3 might be the end of the line for the Caffee brothers and their ilk.

Embry, who’s currently co-starring in the movie Eagle Eye with Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan, said he suspects that the show’s creators might wrap up loose ends toward the end of the season. But the cast would be happy to do more, he said. “I’m willing to do whatever number of seasons because I love the show.”

Season 3 of Brotherhood debuts on Showtime Nov. 2. The eight-episode arc is currently filming in Providence, R.I. Embry said it’ll have all the juicy stuff fans have come to expect: lying, cheating, stealing, manipulation and corruption.

Completely captivated by the episodes am watching on DVD. It’s right up there with “The Sopranos.” How could they let it end?

Can’t believe Brotherhood is cancelled. Dexter is great, but the one two punch of Dexter and Brotherhood was awesome. I feel so let down by Showtime! I don’t guess anyone cares.

Well its official……Brotherhood is cancelled, now so is my subscription to Showtime ! It was the best show on television. No doubt if the promotion pinheads over there marketed the show like Weeds, and Dexter, it would have had a much wider audience. This show was what the sometimes “cartoonish” Sopranos was not. Hopefully HBO will revive it !! BOO HOO !!

Look if Brotherhood is cancelled I will get rid of Showtime. The only reason I pay for this stupid channel is for this show. It is useless for anything else, so goodbye showtime!!!! Let me know if you decide to renew one of the greatest shows on TV in a long time.

Is Brotherhood dunzo? The Boston Herald says yes.
