I know it seems impossible since we saw her die in the season 4 finale of House, but Michael Ausiello tells us that Anne Dudek, aka Amber or Cutthroat Bitch (CTB) may be returning somehow to House.
As a person who quit watching Grey’s Anatomy about the time the goofy ghost aspect started, I truly hope it won’t be anything like that. But how can they make a completely dead character come back to the show? The way I see it, there could be a few options for them:
- She could be a part of flashbacks for Wilson or House. It’s pretty convoluted, but if it was done properly, it might work…as long as they don’t overwork the whole thing. I don’t want to see a dozen flashbacks per episode!
- We could find that CTB has an even more evil twin sister who could somehow join the cast to torture House and/or Wilson. I rather like this idea. There are so many things that could be different this time. House might be the one she falls for and it could make the Cuddy dynamic strained… There are just so many possibilities with this option.
- They could do the cheesy ghost idea, but I think we would all have a fit and protest…
- On a more ridiculous note, House could come out of a coma induced during the season finale and find that it’s all been a bad dream…this was awful when they did it on the series Dallas years ago. I hope they don’t go this direction. I’ll be truly upset.
- She could show up as a CTB doppleganger. In other words, a person looking exactly like Amber, but in no way related to her or even aware of her existence. This seems like a real stretch and I hope they don’t do it.
What are some scenarios you can think of? Do you want to see CTB return if they can think of a credible way to do it? Or do you think it’s just too contrived to even consider? Let us know!

It would have to be a mental image for Wilson as a symptom of some disease or condition that kicks his ass. He winds up on the bus with Amber at the end, doesn’t leave and stays in a coma for a number of episodes. An irony could be to have House jump all over some orderly for not being respectful in teh room where Wilson is in a coma. During the coma episodes CTB and Wilson can have a cool dialog.
I wouldn’t mind Amber coming back but just in House’s or Wilson’s mind.

NO!!! I hate the thought of this happening. Please just give us some well written story lines that involve Dr.’s Chase and Cameron. Leave the dead buried where they belong!
Oh, please tell me it’s not true. Nothing against the actress herself but this is just a bad idea. House will have officially jumped the shark! Leave that type of writing to the daytime soaps please!!
Why not something more direct? We already know from the crash episode that Wilson and CTB made at least one video. What about Wilson having some sort of set back and watching those videos?
Or what if CTB kept a video diary that Wilson finds as he finally cleans out some of her stuff?
More interesting than there being an Evil Twin – what if she was the Evil Twin and there is a Good Twin out there? Or a Patty Duke like nearly identical twin? But if there were a sibling, especially a twin, wouldn’t that be known already? Wilson wouldn’t be surprised by that – as he would have certainly been to the funeral and met any of her family.
I really hope she isn’t coming back. I think she is not coming back. bringing people back from the Dead doesn’t look something House-ish, the show is very focused in reality and things that are real and explained and proved things with very few excpetions that fit in the show, and I don’t think bringing back people from the dead fits… The option it would fit more it would be probably in Flashbacks or House waking up from coma, but still…
This isn’t going to happen. This was reported by someone who asked Katie Jacobs and David Shore about Amber returning and since they didn’t say that Amber is NOT coming back, inferred that Amber might come back. Which is of course retarded. And VERY poor logic for someone who watches House MD.

i did the same thing – stopped watching grey’s just after the ghost thing took hold.
i hope anne dudek gets to come back – she’s so pretty! and her on-screen chemistry with hugh is undeniable.
the flashback thing would be kool. the evil twin idea is AWESOME. and the doppelganger thing – well, it worked for Catherine Bell on JAG.

The flashback or conscience idea sounds grea. Maybe Wilson could be developing feelings for Cuddy, but then somehow feels guilty as though he is betraying the feelings that he had for Amber. Maybe we could see flashbacks of some of the times they shared and even dreams or conscience sequences where Amber pays him a “visitation”. Bringing back a dead character is doable if done right. No evil twins – or in Amber’s case – the not-evil twin!!

How about as a conscience for Wilson that would be in his mind , kind of a ” What would Amber advice me to do ?”. We all think that about loved ones who have passed and try and conjure them up for advice/support. A memory, not a ghost. Her memory could plague Wilson when he sees someone who looks like Amber. Perhaps both of the guys dream about her in different scenarios..she could be the bed mate for both & gone at dawn… but with feelings still to be dealt with.
