Iron Maiden “Flight 666”

On February 1, 2009, Iron Maiden embarked on their Somewhere Back In Time World Tour to promote the  DVD release of their 1985 concert video Live After Death.  It was a huge iron maiden flight 666production taking them more than 50,000 around the world in 45 days to play 23 concerts on five continents.  That’s amazing!

Along the way, singer Bruce Dickinson flew fans to concerts (Iron Maiden’s Bruce Airways service!) and they even created a specific shirt for each concert.  At the shows, Iron Maide used an updated version of their World Slavery Tour (1984-85) stage set and performed in front of more than 2 million adoring fans.  To say this was one of the most important projects in the legendary band’s history is possibly an understatement.  That said, it would be pretty incredible to get a behind-the-scenes look at what went into this tour.iron maiden plane

If you’re interested, Iron Maiden is taking you along for the ride through their documentary Flight 666 which becomes available on DVD tomorrow.

You’ll get to see what it’s like to be aboard their customized Boeing 757 (Ed Force One) as they flew across the world making stops in Sydney (Australia) through Toronto (Canada) and all the stops in between!

On a second bonus disc, fans are treated to an entire set from a segment of the tour (filmed in 2008) including 16 songs from as many cities.

If you’re an Iron Maiden fan, this is a must-have item!
