I Am Legend is one of those (many) movies in my DVD stack I haven’t found time to watch yet. Everyone I’ve talked to who’s seen it says don’t bother, it’s a depressing thriller, not worth it, etc.
So there it sits. But maybe I should re-think that, because now a prequel is in the works, so it can’t be all that bad, right?
More after the jump…
Variety is confirming that Warner Bros. is working on a prequel to the 2007 Will Smith movie, which grossed $584 million internationally (again, can’t be that bad, right?).
Francis Lawrence will be returning to direct, and the rumor is that Will Smith will be returning as Dr. Robert Neville and will also co-produce with James Lassiter and Akiva Goldsman.
The story will cover the final days of humanity in NYC before a man-made virus wipes out the population, leaving Neville alone with the mutated residents.
