What?! Hugh doesn’t understand why people find him attractive. He says he has ‘buns of yogurt’ and that casting him as House was a ‘mistake.’ He even claims his wife doesn’t think he’s hot! Hmmm…I have a feeling she’d tell us a different story.

British actor Hugh Laurie is dumbfounded as to why he would be perceived as a sex symbol.
“Even my wife Jo doesn’t think I’m sexy,” said the “House” star. “It’s a miracle we have children.” American magazine “Entertainment Weekly” disagrees and describes Laurie as “the thinking woman’s sex symbol.”
“I recently did a shower scene and it was one of the most traumatic events of my life,” said the 46-year-old. “It struck me as a misuse of resources because the producers have gone to the trouble of hiring young beautiful people with smooth skin and high bottoms and they go and pick the old guy with the buns of yogurt. It staggers my wife.”
Laurie’s concerns span from his newfound sexy status to him being cast as the smart and suave Dr Gregory House in the first place. “I consider casting me to be a colossal mistake,” said the Golden Globe winner. “I think I have a huge charisma deficit compared to all these American actors who look fabulous and sexy.”

Hmmm…a smart, incredibly witty man who is a great actor and has gorgeous blue eyes. And doesn’t believe he’s sexy. Sorry to disagree with you, Hugh Laurie, but I think that all just might make you the sexiest man on TV!
He had to be joking about Jo not finding him sexy.
Or maybe she says that to keep him in line — to keep him from getting a big head and running off with some starlet because super-stardom and sex-symbol status will do that.
But I don’t think Hugh Laurie is at risk for becoming egotistical if he honestly thinks he’s not sexy. What women find sexy in a man is a very complicated thing and a lot more than smooth skin is involved. He works out. I hardly would think he has buns of yogurt… but then again, as one other comment stated, “I like yogurt!”

Wow, his wife DOESNT’ THINK HE’S SEXY? Excuse me, but has she actully looked at him??!?! Okay, so, obviously she has looked at him, and I’m being silly, but it’s just because I’m so baffled as to why she wouldn’t think he was sexy. Intelligence is sexy. Confidence is sexy – and House is confidence, even if Laurie isn’t. Modestly is sexy. Talent is sexy.
It does indeed take a lot more then ‘smooth skin’ to be sexy. That’s exactly what he was named ‘the thinking woman’s crush’.
I don’t think his wife is attractive. In any photos I’ve seen of her she looks…I don’t know, mousy. Plain.

The sexiest thing about him IS this modesty- and I mean real modesty, not the “aw, shucks- can you take another photo of me looking cute, by the way?” kind of modesty. But he’s so self-deprecating that it’s sort of sad that he can’t see the wonderful, sexy guy everyone else can. And I mean EVERYONE- have you ever met somebody who find Hugh Laurie annoying?
