Many thanks to House fan Grace for sending me the tip about this fun statement Hugh Laurie made recently about how he is puzzled by his show’s extreme popularity in Spain:
“My TV show HOUSE is very, very, very big in Spain. The Spaniards are nutty about it. There were gaggles of shouting fans. That’s why I had a bodyguard. HOUSE hasn’t made much on an impression on British television so I am able to move about in my own country unhindered.”
I can certainly understand the popularity of House anywhere! ;-)

May as well just call it Hot-male.
It’s mostly the Spanish ladies I’m thinking – they adore their tall, fair-skinned, blue-eyed, handsome doc’. Personally – the British bone structure; long, narrow, fine-boned face? – nothing beats it. (That’s my ancestry, so I s’pose I’m biased).
By the way, the really short hair and extra-thick facial fuzz looks great on Laurie. He looks his age but it suites him so well that he doesn’t look “old” at all.
Not that he’s old! 49, 50, 55, 60 is NOT old. (I’m 46 – I know these things).
He’s still in every way a middle-aged babe.
hugh is just sooooo beautiful. anywhere.
