The news just broke about Cameron’s leaving House mid-season. I still don’t like the news at all, but it seems that it’s story-driven. Kristin at E! Online has been workin g to get to the bottom of the situation for us.
I’ve put most of the spoinler behind the jump so if you don’t want a plot spoiler, don’t click.
According to our favorite frenemy, Jennifer Morrison’s run as Dr. Allison Cameron on House will end midseason, and her exit was a creative decision on the part of the producers. (Meaning Morrison didn’t quit; she was written out.)
OK, so that’s the alleged behind-the-scenes situation—according to a rep, “The show does not have any comment” on reports of Morrison’s exit—but forget the Hollywood drama. What drives Cameron to ditch her job at Princeton-Plainsboro after more than five years in House’s orbit?
Read on for the exclusive scoop we got from insiders on why Cameron leaves her husband and the hospital…
Here’s what sources spill about Cameron’s departure: After Chase treads a thin moral line on a case involving an African dictator, he and Cameron both decide they should get out of Princeton while the getting’s good. They plan to quit the hospital together and go somewhere else where they can focus on their relationship and on each other.
And then House gets involved. Because House (Hugh Laurie) is the devil. (Argh!)
House, who loves nothing more than to pour poison in the ears of his friends, starts talking to Chase about Cameron. House suggests that Cameron forgiving Chase for his misdeeds with the dictator is out of character for her.
Shortly thereafter, Chase has an inexplicable change of heart and decides he wants to stay with House after all. Cameron is understandably upset.
Harumph.
According to insiders, this all goes down around episode eight.
If nothing else, this certainly casts a new light on what Jesse Spencer told us at the House premiere party in Hollywood last week: “I’ve got a lot of storylines coming my way. There’s a bit of dodgy doctoring going on. But dodgy doctoring is all we do on the show. Bend the rules a little bit—that’s what House does. If House was practicing medicine [in the real world] he’d have lot his license on day one.”
Long story short: Chase drank the boss’ Kool-Aid, Cameron didn’t and horrible, horrible House wins again. [Source: E! Online]

sorry , i don´t speak english well………..
2 alex..i am with you….
Ok, I’ve now seen Hour 4 of Season 6. Anybody notice that TPTB went out of their way to have absolutely NO interaction between Cameron & House? I mean, there she is, actually working for House again (for a millisecond) with the old team, and TPTB might as well have put Jen in a glass box to keep her from having to do anything with Hugh at all. Unfortunately, that reinforces my theory that she’s ticked off TPTB, and they are only hinting that she might come back so they can pacify all the loyal, long-time fans who are incredibly angry about their decision to kick off (of all people) Jennifer Morrison! Maybe Katie Jacobs or Doris Egan got jealous of her since, unlike that stick Olivia Wilde, Jen/Cam actually HAS a personality.
Oh yes, despite the fact the show is called House MD, it´s made off a bunch of good actors and actress as well, it´s a group, a team. House don´t live alone at an island!!!!!!!!!!! Since 3rth season ends, i don´t see every episode of the show, cause most of them, with the new crew are bored to me. BTW, i´m from Brazil, and write/read in english very well… xoxo
OMG! Only see this post now. Just sad. I think J. Morrison has some other job to do. As we see, her participation at House MD has been next to zero, after 3rth season. It´s a shame in my opinion, i like her at the show, good chemestry when plays with Hugh Laurie. Well, who knows. But for me, it´s a sad news.
theory: maybe Jen wanted to leave? (I wouldn’t like working with my ex 24/7 and she does have chances to work outside and can be annoyed of being underused…) but that’s a stupid theory…
but I still can’t believe right that she’s leaving, after all they did seem to like Cameron (just like they like Foreman), if they took out somebody I would say Chase he’s one of the most underused of them all (that is, since the beginning of the show) so Cam leaving is probably temporary… I guess, it’s way more probable, and if they are smart enough they wouldn’t take out a character that has so many fans, they would take out a character that fans hate (like Taub and 13) (of course they are not smart)
However, of course I don’t care for Cameron/Jennifer and I would love some good changes in the show like this… (but they have to stop taking characters out, third in three years!)
Don’t like it, don’t read it!
I agree w/ u Andrea. Jen’s bit on the show must have been taped AT least 2 weeks ago, before shooting began. But it was a nice interview. Hey Alex, here’s a question for u: since the CGI folks spent all that money to put in the video game sequences in the 2nd episode, which had no point whatsoever, & decide to take Jen out cause they don’t seem to have the money to pay her anymore, why are they keeping the rest of the cast, & paying them?
I would like to remind everyone that this is a public forum and please, let’s behave like ladies and gentlemen! As a frequent reader and contributer to this forum I do not like reading the nasty curse words and feel it is completely unnecessary and impolite to curse and belittle other people for what is, after all, just a television show – this is not reality, folks :)
That having been said…
I saw Jen on Carson Daly last night, and here are my thoughts…
1. I thought she showed great poise and professionalism.
2. I loved her comments about Kal Penn and how surprised even the cast was about how his character’s suicide was written.
3. The only thing I heard her mention about her character’s journey this season was that she said her character was back “at the beginning” of season 6. I didn’t hear her mention anything about her leaving the show at all. Of course this was probably taped well before TPTB let on anything about her character leaving.
I know why Jennifer had to leave. The producers spent so much money of the cgi effects in episode two making it look like alien vs predator, that they could no longer afford to pay Jennifer. LOL!
I never really cared for Cameron but I still believe this is a crap ass way to get rid of a character. Chase and Cam were married last season, if they can integrate stories for Chase they could have made room for her. It’s all a bunch of deceit and crap. Jennifer obviusoly fell out of favor with someone. And I don’t give a **** how nasty it sounds I can’t stand that incompetant, lying, queen of the trolls, Katie Jacobs. She sucks. And she needs to quit or be fired herself!!
Its just an f*****g show people…!! Accept whatever happens and move on…!!!
Alright, it all comes down to tonite: are the rumors true, or just 1 fat lie that got us all worked up for nothing. I think that all of us Cameron fans should pray, that we don’t want any of this to happen, & to keep Chase & Cameron together forever the way we all want them to be, & to get rid of Foreteen all together.
I’m still completely enthralled with the show but I must agree with NLP (and most others here) that I am sick to death of Foreteen (actually got sick of that ship last season, and last week’s episode reminded me why), and now Chameron. It’s all the soapy relationship stuff I’m sick of. If I could communicate anything directly to TPTB, I’d tell them this is not and never was a soap opera, it’s a drama/ medical mystery :)
I must admit that I do like a little of the Huddy ship, but just a little, not too much. I’ve been saying for a long time that it seems like the show has lost its focus, which should be FIRST and FOREMOST on the medical mysteries (like it was in the first two seasons) and House’s innate diagnostic skills, and they have let the relationship stuff get way too much out of hand.
I’m sorry that Jennifer Morrison is leaving, but not surprised. She was wonderful when she was on House’s team, but I could see the writing on the wall when they moved her character to the ER in season 4 and then messed it all up with the Chameron fluff. I mean come on now, when she had to utter that line about freezing her dead husband’s sperm, to me that was more writing on the wall that they wanted to get rid of her character. That’s too bad.
Watch Carson Daly tonight – Jen is on
I agree, Hugh Laurie IS the show. I yield to no one in my love for Hugh Laurie; he’s enthralled me from the very 1st episode. But here’s the problem: TPTB have screwed up the show and created all these stupid, soapy, angsty plotlines. So, unlike earlier seasons, I now loathe, in order of loathingness: Huddy, Cuddy, Forteen, Forman, 13, Chameron, & Chase. That’s a lot of main characters/couples to hate. I get aggravated watching THEM. I also hate watching TPTB pile trouble, upon trouble, on House — like he didn’t already have more than enough. The current House is depressed and depressing. So, at this point, I get way more aggravated by watching the show than I get enjoyment from watching Hugh Laurie. So, unfortunately — and I never believed I’d say this — I’m going to stop watching the show when Jen leaves. I sure would love to know what Jen did to whom to get treated so badly.
Guess what: Ausiello made his statement last night. He said that his “mole” on the set found Jen’s trailer empty, but couldn’t confirm if it was temporary or permanant.
The only thing that would truly ruin this show would be if Hugh Laurie left. Jennifer Morrison is lovely no doubt about it, but she’s hardly been on at all for the past few seasons and it’s still been worth watching (in my opinion). I think things need to change because programs become boring after awhile. Jennifer Morrison will undoubtedly go on to have an even more successful career thanks to House and I can’t wait to see what she does next. I wish her all the best.
Carol: maybe that’s why they are taking off Cameron, Chase ‘won’t be anywhere near as good without her’ and she ‘is also the only character (other than his shrink) who seems to inspire a range of emotions and a higher degree of consciousness from House.’ (quoting you) Maybe it will shake the show a little, instead of staying on the same place over and over…
and about Thirteen and Taub… I just hope they leave at the end of the season once their fellowship is over (because really nobody likes them, if they don’t realize it, the show will be gone)
and Cameron and Chase has been underused for years, if I was Jmo I’d rather leave than staying like this, I’d have tons of movies possibilities to do and tons of very good opportunies (because of House)
and I also doubt she’s pregnant… would she be that careless? (and there’s also that rumor about how she and Jesse broke up…) hmnnn
Hi Mars, You don’t have to be so nasty.
Oh right….never mind.
