Episode 5.16: The Softer Side
Air Date: February 16, 2009
In this episode of House it looks like the leg pain has finally become so intolerable that House will start to try to deal with it in a new and more dangerous way. Knowing that he’s a Vicodin addict and has done everything from drop acid to sticking a knife in a socket up until now, there’s no telling what his new “treatment” will consist of…
And the patient is another child whose parents aren’t honest with House…gee, what are the chances of that? ;-)

Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard, C) and Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein, R) are surprised to learn that House (Hugh Laurie, L) has found a new way to treat his leg pain in the HOUSE episode “The Softer Side” airing Monday, Feb. 16 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

My guess: he’s taking estrogen which has had successful clinical trials as an adjunct to pain killers for those afflicted with chronic pain : side effects a ‘softer/gentler ‘ House, a fatigued/hard to ‘rouse’ House, a low libido House ( read: doesn’t have to obsess about wanting to jump Cuddy). Obviously House doesn’t stay on the estrogen having seen the facial hair Hugh Laurie had regrown at the SAG Awards. Poor House. We feel his pain….well at least half the audience does.
