the first photo is fake im not sure about the rest of them…
OMG… that opinion ruled GeeLady. I like this season so far… the characters are awesome!!!
Hey I agree with you… some things more than changes, need to evolve and I think House is doing that…
wow. geelady. that was poetic, it is exactly what i have been thinking for years. i am glad someone was finally able to find the words. thanks!!! :]
So far House Season 5 has kept me glued to it like, well, glue!
If G. House of Season 1 and 2 had never changed – hell if any character never changes, he or she becomes tiresome. Real people change in that their lives do. Change happens to real humans.
Fictional characters need growth also or they ever remain in the moinds of the veiwers as just that: just fiction. Nothing that passes for real. Imagine Jean-Luc Picard having stayed that stoic, cold mirthless Captain through seven seasons?
Yeesh. In some ways he stayed the same, he never became unrecognizable as Picard, but in some ways he adapted to changes in his life. These changes come to all, age, experiences, loves found and lost, the death of family or friends . . .all of these things can alter perception or even hone it to a finer point.
Jean-Luc fell in love, lost his self control, verily highjacked the Enterprise for his personal use, nearly caused the death of his whole crew to exact a revenge he thought just enough. He all but adopted Wesley!
But he remained from start to finish Jean-Luc Picard, a man you respected, even liked but never screwed with.
In the beginning House was highly intellectual and though possessed humor, rarely shared anthing but the biting patronizing kind with his fellows or even Wilson.
By the middle of the first season I began to see wonderful but still in character changes in House and embraced them with whole-hearted enthusiasm.
Thank god for courageous writers and insightful Hugh.
No one is simply intellect or just angry or only lonely or merely in sufferage.
House is multi-layed and undoubtedly Hugh Laurie saw the potential for House to have as many layers – maybe more – as others do. We have witnessed a gradual peeling back of those layers and now we may on occasion peer deeper.
House is softer in some ways or at least comes across that way, but he is still the man he was. He yearns for the puzzle and stops at nothing to solve it. He has normal desires and feelings like any man does for company and sex, but is still the man who protects himself from hurt because he is, though an insufferable, hard-headed jerk, a romantic at heart who also recognises the unlikeliness of ever really having it. True love in his life is ellusive. Love is ellusive, and flighty and changes all the time.
Because what is true love anyway? This is still being tested and tasted by House and others under the covers so-to-speak around the House/Wilson/Insert Female Here/Cuddy halls et. al. of PPTH.
On the one hand House wants happiness, on the other he recognises how rarely it is ever obtained by anyone or if it is it goes unrecognized.
House is simply cynical enough to be honest about it. He is also self aware enough to accept that for him, it may never come at all, or if it does, he could lose it at any time.
People, as imperfect as they are, even those deeply in love, can find a host of reasons not to be together and convince themselves it’s for the best.
As for Last Resort, since I have not seen the episode it is difficult to say what will actually transpire and how intense or significant viewers will file the ep’ in relation to the over-all bar- graph of House-worthiness.
But the very least I think is: Hugh Laurie as an astute entertainer/actor, will certainly not pass over the obvious fact that House is about to spend some significant time staring down the barrel of another loaded gun. That his life is once again in the hands of a really angry guy and this time angry guy’s sticking around a while.
Imagine if it were you?
With Houses’ experience of death by bullets under his belt, I’m thinking some good angsty fodder might be served up for this episode.
I don’t care how strong House is emotionally, faced with the hint of his death over the course of a day, and his and everyone’s lives resting not only upon his abilities as a crack Diagnoistician, but upon the whim and trigger finger of a pissed off patient with his evil eye on the Doc’ Nut-job expects to cure him? has got House finds himself in the unenviable position of Deliver or else!
Yeah. We’ll be seeing some understated but unmistakable angsty moments from House simmered to subtle perfection by Mr. Laurie.
I like the growth of House from a jerk no one can stand to a jerk some of us often still can’t stand yet love lots ’cause he’s imperfect like we are. And mouthy and an ass and he lies ’cause there’s some things he just can’t stand doing like clinic duty and paperwork. And sometimes he even – gasp! – shirks his duties.
But he’s also at times honest to a fault, and moral when others least expect it.
House harbors a heart made of cracked, fine bone china hidden behind a chest wall lined with lead to keep out the irritating feelings of others.
House dislikes feelings, not because he doesn’t have them or because he thinks they aren’t necessary, but because most people share feelings to see if your feelings match their feelings and whether they do or they don’t, you’re screwed because the odds are even that they’ll be mad about one option or the other.
House is a cynical, angry, bitter, sometimes sweet, often lonely, always interesting crippled man who is well aware he has fewer and fewer years ahead to find that happiness everyone’s always talking about.
He’s a man who is honest with himself enough to believe he might have to settle for what he has already had, like so many of us have to: some happiness, some romance, some lonliness, some sadness.
House holds a soft spot in my heart forever because he’s not bigger than life, he’s definitive of it.
House is the frail, human, struggling personification of humanity in all its bizzarre workings and I adore him for it.
Or, to put all of that more succinctly:
Season 5 rocks.
I like this season ! :)
i think you guys are idiots… if you look at the first seasons back to back you start to realize.. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME… i would laugh with my friends because we knew what the next treatment would be… every show NEEDS to change in order for it to develop and go forward.. if not, it gets stale.. REALLY FAST.. so get over it and jump on board, because you will be the first ones complaining when it DOES get canceled!!
why you all say that?? you think it has changes too much??? I like this season…

Oh God… Yeah, I want House show to be exciting, but don’t you think they quite overdoing it?
Oh. I thought I was the one of the rare few who ahem dislikes this season.
And I agree with dodirae on Cuddy’s clothes. Woman looks incapable of getting anything in her size. The stylist should look into that already.
I agree. This episode probably sounded interesting. But looking at the photos, it just looks dumb. Too bad because this show used to be good.
The first photo cracks me up…
Hey hey hey… Cuddy with the SWAT team… oooooh…
Can’t they at LEAST get Lisa Edelstein the right size clothes? I mean, look at that jacket. It is way too tight and the sleeves are way too long. If they want her to look sexy . fine. But make the clothes fit. she look ridiculous.
I miss season 1 and 2 House :/
Wow. This is just ridiculous. I mean really, just look at that first photo. Is this still House?
