Holly Hunter Takes On Kyra Sedgwick at 2009 Emmys

The Closer’s Kyra Sedgwick and Saving Grace’s Holly Hunter are more than just top TNT talent. When the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony airs on CBS tomorrow, September 20, at 8pm ET, the dynamic actresses will battle each other for the second year in a row to win a prized Best Lead Drama Actress statuette.

Although neither of their shows and none of their co-stars have been nominated for an Emmy this year, it’s notable that the series stars themselves have scored a Best Lead Drama Actress nomination every single year that their respective TNT cop show has aired.

That makes the 2009 Emmys Kyra’s fourth consecutive nomination for The Closer and Holly’s second consecutive nomination for Saving Grace, and you better believe both women will earn one more nomination each in 2010.
