Hilary Duff vs. Faye Dunaway: "Bonnie and Clyde" Feud

Hilary Duff is set to star in a remake of "Bonnie and Clyde," the 1967 movie that earned Faye Dunaway an Oscar nom. "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" will start shooting in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama soon, and is scheduled for a 2010 release.

Apparently, when Dunaway heard of the casting, she said, "Couldn’t they cast a real actress?" Duff replied with, "I think that my fans that are gonna see the movie don’t even know who she is … I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now, too." Meow on both counts!

Personally, I like Hilary Duff and would see her in just about anything. I mean, let’s face it, she’s no Meryl Streep, but then neither is Faye Dunaway! Anyway, check out the video below. Who’s side do you fall on, or don’t you really care?

I am in generation Y (born 1987), which probably makes me even more poisoned than a generation x haha. I have to side with Hilary Duff on this — hear me out. Even though Hilary Duff isn’t as talented as Faye Dunaway, I don’t think that gives Dunaway any right whatsoever to speak so rudely about her potential in public. Obviously, Duff’s reply wasn’t very mature either but she is still trying to establish her career. Hilary Duff said what she said to rescue her image from someone who wasn’t quite sure if she could ever be ‘good enough’.

Think about it: if you have a friend in college who wants to be a doctor, have you ever heard him/ her tell people “maybe” or be silent if someone asks them if they’re going to be a doctor? Only those who really want what they want will ever make it. I guarantee you that the media-filled world of the acting business is a billion times harder just to break into than the field of medicine. And we thought our enrollment rates were low!

So Dunaway: you’ve really let your generation down by being classless in your words. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done with your life if you can’t be a good role model, ie a good person.

Sad, but it seems the X Generation or what ever they call themselves now is quite possibly the most untalented, poorly educated and at the same time have these massive egos that makes them certainly a generation that is forgotten before they are even dead. With Paris Hilton as their Goddess it is pathetic to even let them appear in films, write a book or paint a picture.
Total talentless whiners. Rap on you Morons of the Third Millennium.

Faye Dunaway’s acting was ‘brilliant’, and outstanding, in her role as Bonnie Parker. The movie was fantastic and exciting, and won numerous awards. Noone will ever, nor CAN EVER come close to Faye’s talent as an actress.
Hilary – you are not an actress, and you have never been an actress. You are showing just how insecure you are by knocking incredible talents. You don’t even come close to joining the super dream team of Hackman, Beatty, Parsons, and Dunaway. And Estelle Parsons won best supporting actress for that movie.
Don’t knock the greats – it looks very bad on your celebrity…..shows you to be immature, and disrespectful. Shame on you. I hate your music anyway. Apologize to Faye.

Jenna – I know, it’s crazy. Even crazier is I’m probably the only person on the planet who actually likes Hilary Duff as an actress. I think she’s cute!

A remake of Bonnie and Clyde? I don’t care who they tapped to play Bonnie — the whole idea is just wrong wrong wrong. What’s next? A remake of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? Ugh…find new scripts people. There’s no reason to remake the classics!
