Henry Cavill, who plays hunky bff Charles Brandon to Jonathan Rhys Meyer’s Henry VIII on The Tudors, recently was tagged by EW’s pop culture mavens for Take 5, their list of the day.

In this video, Cavill describes his five favorite film shoot locations (Sorry, Hollywood — not one is in the U.S.)

5. Venice, where he shot Laguna, a film that never got released. What happened to it, Cavill has no idea. “If someone knows, please give me a call.”

4. Prague, one of the locations for the costume drama/tragedy Tristan and Isolde, was gorgeous in mid-winter and full of history, Cavill said.

3. Dublin, a “great” city where he’s spent a lot of time on camera, filming Tristan and Isolde, The Count of Monte Cristo and Judas seasons 1 and 2.

2. Rome, another Laguna location, has all the history of the ancients but also a youthful, “bubbly” energy.

1. Malta, the lovely Mediterranean location where Cavill shot The Count of Monte Cristo in late summer. Every day off was spent on the beach or soaking in the local history and culture, Cavill said.
