‘Greek’ Returns on August 26th!

Everbody’s favorite college dramedy — Greek, of course — returns for its sophomore season on Tuesday, August 26, at 9pm EST. That’s a new day and new time, in case you keep track of such things.

I received an advance copy of the season premiere, so as always, I’ll post an early review as soon as I’ve watched. In the meantime, let me share some refresher info about the show. Diligent watchers and/or avid spoiler hounds might already know all or most of what follows, so please bear with me.

When the students return to fictional Cyprus-Rhodes University:

It won’t be the beginning of a new school year but rather the end of the school year after Spring Break.

A new guy will be on campus to catch Casey’s eye, and he’s played by Swingtown and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ Michael Rady.

Casey will also have to deal with trouble from Rebecca and Frannie, both of whom will complicate her life as ZBZ president so much that Zeta Beta Zeta Nationals Chapter reps Tegan (Charisma Carpenter of Angel) and Lizzi (Senta Moses of My So Called Life) will return, along with new character and ZBZ alumna Paula, played by Beverly Hills, 90210‘s Carol Potter.

Rusty will become increasingly eager to get initiated into Kappa Tau even as he contemplates his past actions and how they’ll impact his future plans.

Dale will continue to see his conservative perspective challenged and will grow personally as a result.

Meanwhile, things won’t remain all fun and roses in Cappie and Rebecca’s relationship.

Speaking of which, couples Evan & Frannie and Calvin & Michael (played by Max Greenfield of Ugly Betty and Veronica Mars) will also have their fair share of good times and bad times as the ten-episode second season progresses.
