Yes yes, Gnarls Barkley are American I know, but they did sit at the top of the UK Charts long enough for me to regard them as part of the British music scene. ‘Crazy was actually the last long stayer at number 1 before Rihanna with her bloody umbrella, staying there for 9 weeks in a row and was the biggest selling song in the UK in 2006.
So when I saw this video, I knew it had to go on Brit Music Scene, and that my readers would appreciate it. Not that any of you ever comment mind! But I know you’re there, listening to the tunes and lurking in the shadows.
How good is that version? By the time Gnarls Barkley’s reign at the top of our charts ended, I was pretty sick of the song, but this renewed my interest in it. The theremin is a very hard instrument to play, not that I’ve tried but I’ve been told. And come in, it looks like it takes a lot of skill, so it must be true.
I also like the video which has a 4 way split screen, which kind of reminds me of The Beatles for some reason. Anyway, I’m now babbling, so enjoy the video, and go on your merry way.
