Ghost Lab is Coming to Discovery

19228_0056Discovery Channel takes another step into the world of ghost hunting this October with the premiere of their new show Ghost Lab. I haven’t seen the show yet but the press on it talks up the high tech nature of the show. Brad and Barry Klinge are Texas boys who founded a company called Everyday Paranormal and they claim to have a new twist on the old hunt.

What they do have is a fancy mobile lab that’s loaded with cool gadgets. It’s a 24-foot car hauler that is capable of providing 200,000 watts of electricity to power audio, video and photo analysis stations; flat-screen televisions and an interactive touch-screen smartboard.

The lab also houses surveillance video cameras capable of shooting 300 feet away in total darkness with a 180-degree peripheral view; temperature, humidity and dew point data loggers; various digital cameras, including thermal imaging cameras; audio recorders; and more than 8,000 feet of video cable.  This on-site high-tech lab enables investigators to analyze data on the premises in real time, helping them to more narrowly focus their investigations on suspected “hot spots.”

The team also consults with some of the world’s foremost specialists in science measurements to devise and test theories during their investigations.  Is there more “ghost activity” around water?  Are spirits attached to specific items or locations?  Is there a parallel universe?

Some of the locations the Klinge brothers investigate on Ghost Lab include Tombstone, Ariz., home to some of the most violent deaths in history; Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, where Elvis got his start; and Granbury Opera House where, according to legend, John Wilkes Booth changed his name to John St. Helen and performed Shakespeare after assassinating President Lincoln.

Ghost Lab premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00 on Discovery Channel.

I have never posted anything ever online regarding any of the shows I like or don’t like until now. I’m a female Paranormal Investigater and studied Demonology as well in College as my experience with the supernatural scared me and I have been searching for evidence since then. With that being said Ghost Lab has all this fancy costly equitrment as many other Hunters do but Brads attitude is WAY TOO COCKY being this is the 1st season. Walking in saying “Everyday Paranormal in the house and you better do someyhing to impress me with your hiding ass.” That’s just 1 expamplev of many. I’m all for provoking spirits as that is how you push the limits and get more results in my 20 years of doing this however, I don’t see the others shows throwing their weight around making such demands acting like they are the bomb digity for lack of better words. They are not. A friend of mine who likes the show sent a link to me to read and someone said “feel free to ask Brad or Berry any questions as they do have a FB account and pop in from time to time. Who knows, you may be the lucky one who gets a personal reply on your Facebook wall” Arre you kidding me?? They are not “A” list celebs, not by a long shot so who are they to act like we should be honored to have them possibly grace our page with a reply? It rubbed a lot of people the wrong way including fans. I guess they feel they don’t have to pay their dues like the others shows but even they don’t act so cocky. It makes it look like all investigaters are showing off for the camera thinking were cool being on TV. No one will believe any legit findings when they feel these guys are just showing off for cameras and it hurts their credibility as well as other Paranomral Teams. I also understand they were on Larry King ( which isn’t hard to do no matter how minor of a show you have) and someone read they bragged about “femake fans.” I’m sorry….I’m no Pam Anderson but they are the LAST GUYS to act like they are a Brad Pitt. I think we all see why. This kind of display really ruins it for the ones you are not trying to look cool for the camera and are not there for that. I can’t bring myself to watch another episode. The constant nasty attitude and going in yelling at “spirits” to prove themselves to him. Who is he to demand that???? No one knows who they even are unless you watch those shows. None of my 20 friends or their friends had NO CLUE who they were. It just ruins any possible legit findings they may have. Not to mention they don’t let the team members particiate unless they have to have more than 2 people (but there is a camera crew at all times) and they treat the staff as if they are beneath them. I notice the other shows treat the whole team as one, not “I’m the founder & co founder so you speak when spoken to.” At the end when they “reflect” on their findings they do not include the other members. I guess Brad is a camera hog but takes credit when a team member finds a good EVP or anything. Has anyone noticed that as well? He isn’t a celeb BY ANY MEANS. If Brad would get his insecurity in check and quit acting cocky & cool to make up for others things (when men or women act like that it means it’s a insecurity issue and they feel the need to try to convince others they are the bomb. I know a lot of people are ragging about his weight in other posts which is wrong. That’s very immature and cruel but when you act like your all that it opens yourself up for critisism. If he would just act like a man his age should he would have a more prudent response. A lot of others posted about this as well I read on some review board. If they would just drop the “I’m a bad ass” attitude and include all team members and stop taking credit when they discover something & work very hard as well (which must be very annoying to them) this show could be a great sucess. This is just my opinion. I like the science they use to back up evidence but I fear his insecurty that drives him to act this way will ruin it. I am all for provoking, don’t get me wrong but not acting like I’m all that. I hope things improve so I can possibly watch this again. Thank you very much for letting me share my opinion. I’m sure they are very nice guys but money & TV really change people and bring out the worst even if they are no body’s to the Hollywood community. If anyone in Orlando Fla looking for a female Ghost Tracker plese let me know. I pray you guys have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving. Don’t let the Boogy Man get you in the dark. Lol. Just start snapping pics & grap your Digital Voice Recorder & start EVP sessions.
    Respectfully,
~Jen (Orlando Fla where Everyday Paranormal have a office. It could be another company with the same name but I was told it was another Home Office for Ghost Lab.

Who is Katie? There is absolutely no information concerning her!

I think this show really outclasses ghost hunters and paranormal state. They have better equipment. More training, and they are active at persueing ghosts not ratings.

Berry and Brad finally bring professionalism to ghost hunting. Dismissing myths and debunking odd sounds.

My favorite episode is episode 3 where the team travels to Chicago to visit the Liars Club where there were multiple murders in the same corner!

Really brilliant show hope they keep up the pace they have started with. Way to go discovery channel!

I watched the show for the first time tonight, I like it a lot. I have experienced spirits and captured pictures of what I believe are spirits, including animals. I would like to send some of them to you sometime. Keep up the good work.

RottenOne, i just read your post, and you are EXACTLY on point with what you said, i should have rad yours before i posted mine, lol, kinda loop one another in a sense. But you are right about ghost hunters working on there INN all the time now, i mean they couldn’t even go to there own live ghost hunt on holloween, that is not cool, that is straight ill, think about it, remember last year when grant said they were the same guys meaning the money didn’t change them , they dont look at the fame that way like most people would think, she said something like that, on the interview. Well, why the hell do you think they are working on this INN so much and worrying just about that, MONEY, they are gonna let people come there and stay, for the right price, i wouldn’t pay 5 dollars to stay in that rebuilt, fake, carnival haunted house, probably have skeletons jumping out at you, with steve there bitch boy standing att he end with a jason mask waiting to leap in front of ya. Anyway, im done again, lol.

Ok, these two dumb asses are the biggest mistake to paranormal investigation on tv i have ever seen, im sorry but they are stupid dipshits, lol, its like they got this show not to prove paranormal exist but to make everywhere they go haunted. Its friggin ridiculous, after every show whether they catch nothing or not they always seem to say, “This location, success”, or, “We caught all types of activity like the knock on the window or wall, oh, and i heard a noise in the other room, so i KNOW its haunted now, SUCCESS!! “. LOL, come on now, i mean shit. If there gonna put people on tv to do a paranormal show, any show at that, put someone that knows what the hell they are doing, im sorry if some of you people disagree with me, but i have seen every episode so far and not once have they made me like, wow, now, Ghost Adventures, on the travel channel, all though Zack can be a lil annoying sometimes, but that show is awsome and they really do actually find REAL evidence, they dont find nothing and say they did, ya know, lol. I have been a ghost hunters watcher for about 2 years now, and adventures for about a year so far but even ghost hunters are starting to bore me to death anymore. And you want to talk about full of shit people, look at mr. Ryan from paranormal state, a few rich kids from college, trying there hardest to become mature adults, they crack me up, ryan looks like a little kid that tries to act so tough all the time, making bid deals out of nothing. Oh, and wow, i cannot believe it takes what, almost 8-9 months to finally come out with a new season, that is crazy, never in my life. Ok people, im out, thanks for the time, hope i dont offend too many people. Later.

I was onboard with Ghost Lab using “science” to unlock the mysteries of the paranormal. And considering the barrage of gadgets and meters they bring to bear you would think they would be able to capture a slew of hard evidence. It’s a good thought but it doesn’t work out that way. I’ve watched five episodes so far and I don’t feel they have captured a single piece of useful evidence to document the paranormal. Truth of the matter is, they claim places are paranormal without any evidence at all. Someone feels a chill and they label the place haunted. They claim a 0.5 EMF reading is perfectly normal in one episode, but in the next claim it to be high and fueling the activity. Their EVPs are static, the experiments they conduct have no real bearing on the investigation and then they jump to wild conclusions once they make their science fit their conclusion.

So far, I haven’t seen these guys document anything tangible. Their investigation in Tombstone was a joke!

And I don’t feel Ghost Hunters is the benchmark for paranormal investigations anymore. Make no mistake they brought ghost hunting into people homes, but the GH team seems more content to investigate from the couch than to actually wander the grounds. They’re more interested in their Inn than focusing on the show.

don’t compare ghost lab to ghost hunter,,,ghost lab is one step higher,,,paranormal is science,,is not because you don’t believe it not excise

Please, please all of you just hold it before you make any more slanderous or derrogatory comments towards the dead. Its not gullability, its not nonsense, and it is educational. There are too many people out there who are haunted, too many places that cannot let go of thier traumatized pasts, and these occurances deserve an answer, a reason for being, a solution, they deserve recognition of thier own for the entities that they are. I grew up in a haunted house, laugh if you wish, but I’ve been subject to the paranormal more than once, and although I still find it unnerving at times, its still something very real that demands attention, just as much as anything else we wish to learn about. I am not a medium or a psychic, but I am someone with an open mind and an accepting heart, if you do not believe in ghosts, find it rediculous to even fathom the fact that such things exist and share the same space the living do, than please stop bastardising Halloween, stop celebrating Christmas and Easter, because although I am not religious either, these holidays are based on spiritual activity and ressurections. Think before you speak just how much the paranormal affects you life before you make such guileless comments, because you just never know whos around you at any time

What a disappointment…why did they choose team members that are scared of ghosts? Very unproffessional. Ghost Lab is a big snooze fest.

Ghost lab was very disappointing. I understand wanting to use science but i found the investigators overly dramatic. Why did they feel they always had to bait possible spirits in a negative way.

I much prefer Ghost Hunters. This seemed like a cheesy rip off

My goodness… These guys suck bad. They see a shadow of some sort on a still image, which could be some shadow cast from a foreground object… BUT NO. It’s a damn shadow person and the dude jumps for joy like his team won the Superbowl. One word. LAME. I hate this show. These idiots don’t go out of their way to debunk. They believe everything desperately. I can’t stand that every lameass on the show has a goatee??? wtf is that about. VERY LAME!!!!!

I am a fan of TAPS and even the tight-shirted (stop shopping in the baby dept.) dude named Zak. But this Ghost Lab is a letdown. Okay, my gratuituous plug: I am building my site BooFlix.com (brand new. Like really new). Join and submit videos! Haha, thanks.

Ghost Lab does indeed suck. I watched one episode over the weekend and it reminded me of a bunch of FAT NASCAR FANS screaming “Woooooo-hoooooo. We dun got us some EVPs! Let’s go ride bikes now!” What a bunch of losers.

And they kept showing the blonde lady, like she’s some piece of eye-candy or something. It’s like they were trying to say “Hey dudes, we got a girl on our show too! See? It’s a real woman. She’s smoking hot. Woooooooo! That means we’re not fags.”

  19. By SW

This show sucks. It’s like a couple of retarded drunk frat boys won the “Ghost Hunters for a Day” contest and they’re all “Sweet Dude!” They are totally unprofessional and painful to watch.
On the bright side, I will never wear a goatee again. Again… Ghost Lab sucks.

V… im glad i cleared some of that up for you… and no nither the evedence nor their reactions are faked. The “glamor shots” i was refering to was the staged shots for the episode such as the drive up shots where everyone pulls up in the vehicles together or the interveiw shots. for the investigations themselves they use real time footage, but for the walk throughs, interveiws and such its more of a staged shot because the camera crew has to set up they have to think of the best place for the interviews (what is going to be seen in the background, where is the lighting better, stuff like that) i have never met the Klinge Brothers but i do have very good sources that can speak for their credability. and Jason or Grant would rather drop dead than fake any type of evidence. thats one reason a paranormal investigator never charges for their services we love donations and will usually do public investigations to raise money (after all our equipment isn’t cheap) but our clients are not obligated to pay us one cent. because we care that much about our credability. because some skeptics feel that if we are getting paid for this we would fake evidence to make more money. if you ever require the services of a paranormal investigator and they want to charge you please find another group. I hope this has shed more light on the subject for you. if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
